Charlie Hewitt: Printmaker, Painter and Sculptor. Exhibitions

Exhibitions | Bibliography | Publications | Grants and Awards | Public Collections

Charlie Hewitt's work is about recording the time we are in and is a response to and commentary on the time and places he has lived and worked. Whether in the mill-towns and shipyards of Maine and Maryland or in the Bowery in New York City. Some of his images of New yYork, the Bowery and Illumination series, including frightening figures and heads and mouths full of nails that give us a glimpse of life on the street and are inspired, in part, by Arthur Rimbaud's Illuminations.
